about

This is the soundtrack to the french feature film called Mirage that I composed in 2018. The score was written with lot's of quite extreme industrial drone synths. You've been warned! There's noisy drones and unpleasant noises galore here! Approach with caution!

The film featured quite a lot of french punk music too including Favela Ninja by our band. Here's a link to the full (esper) film soundtrack compilation: miragesoundtrackesperedition.bandcamp.com

I worked with Juliette Togashi, (the singer of Louis Lingg and the Bombs, of course!) on the Tokyo Love Hotel song music from a scene which happens in a pretty seedy hotel, as you can imagine. She sings it in Japanese.

It was my first feature film soundtrack and it took about 6 months work and was over 40 separate pieces of music including cheesy ringtones and muzak being played in the background in certain scenes.

The film was directed by Christophe Beaucourt.

The film's basically about desperate photographer who suffers from a degenerative eye disease and a husband who wants to kill his dying wife, plot to recover her life insurance. The eye desease is represented by digital noise and distortion in the soundtrack. I also saw the film as a story about alienation and desparation in a cruel, urban megolopolis and I saw the architecture in the film as an integral part of the vibe of the film so the soundtrack has these huge, cold, blocks of noise. There are repeated references to windmills so you can hear swooshing sounds from time to time.

SYNOPSIS :

about

Louis Lingg and the Bombs Paris, France

Louis Lingg and the Bombs are goddamn punk-rock-garage-electro-big beat-pop-anarcho saviours of the 2 and half minute pop song. The bombs they throw are musical, they come from Paris (they could only come from Paris!) and they'll grab you and demand your instant attention.
Their sound is a mix of ultra-political anarchic punk rock and fizzing children's nursery rhyme riot-pop. Formed in 2006!!!!
